Damn, damn, damn, after yesterday's little spurt and getting all fired up to really make a big dent in the garden chores, it's all gone pear shaped, why's that ? you ask, well two reasons, One is that it's a good deal chillier and pretty dull and overcast..... and Two is that I didn't sleep too well last night and took half a sleeping pill around 3 am and slept till gone eight. I took the dogs out and did some shopping which meant I didn't get back till around noon, as I 'd a finished the pot of soup I made the other day, I had to cook from scratch, more time gone, ............by the time I'd cooked and eaten it was 1.30 pm, feeling tired after last night's disturbance and just had to get my head down for a little nap, it's our dancing night to-night and I wanted to be fresh, I re-surfaced at 2.30 pm feeling a bit woozy, so had to sit and collect my stray thoughts. What do I have to do to-day, ? I remember, my hair has to be washed and fresh clothes to be sorted., also wanted to put the dogs bedding through the wash, so what do I do, get out the laptop and had a good moan to my friends in blogland.
Ah well, there's always to-morrow, now I feel it's time for a cuppa. Cheers, also it lets you all know I'm not the Superhuman i made out to be. :-))
Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby
If you come on here looking for some mind-blowing conversation or profound words of wisdom, well you've come to the wrong place and will be disappointed. I'm just an ordinary bod who likes to share my day with anyone who cares to listen. Tales of my dogs, my garden, my family and happenings in my life that I feel might just be amusing....If you're happy with that, draw up a chair, light up a ciggie if you wish or have a cup of tea and make yourself at home.
Yes as I said it was a different kind of day today. Had lunch with my lady friend just as well would have got nothing done in the garden. I loved the story about Ruby and Tango bless them. Good luck it looks to be dry and mild most of the week. Hugs Sheila and Wile-e xx
ReplyDeleteThe weather HAS turned a bit gloomy Sheila, doesn't make me feel at all going out in the garden, but I bet if I got all kitted up and opened the shed, took out the tools I'd soon get lost in the sheer pleasure of it, but, guess what I'm not going to , not to-day anyhow.:-)
DeleteIt's something I do enjoy is the pleasure my dogs appear to give to others, so guileless too.
Your only human, Arlene. We all have to go with the flow. Things don't always go as we plan.
ReplyDeleteI know Horst, as Poppy says, in the words of our Bard Rabbie Burns, The best laid schemes o' mice and men gang aft agley, such profound wisdom he had.
DeleteIt is bitter cold here today with a wind that is biting. I about froze when I was out running errands this morning. I am waiting for a big warm up.
ReplyDeleteHave fun dancing tonight. xx
Oh dear Beth, it's not that bad here any more thankfully, I walked in a more sheltered area to-day as I was calling in on a friend, so gave the beach a miss, yesterday was quite raw. I too am waiting for it to get warmer, though I think ours takes a little longer and is more gradual than yours, and sadly doesn't last long enough. Dancing class was energetic enough to warm us up though, nothing like a good old Scottish country dancing reel to get the blood moving.
DeleteHi Arlene, Our Robins are much bigger than this House Finch, and the breast color is more orange. The Robins here Don't have a red head. The color of the finch is more pronounced when they are in breading season, in spring. We have many different finches here in Edmonton, House Finch,Purple Finch, Cassin's Finch,Grey Crowned Rosey Finch, all of these finches have red in the breast and head feathers. Beautiful little birds.
ReplyDeleteThese birds sound delightful Horst, I'm afraid the birds we have in Uk aren't as a rule colourful, though we have one or two exceptions in a quiet way, such as the little Goldcrest our smallest bird, and the Chaffinch when he is in mating mode, Our robins too have a more orange breast, they are singing their heart's out now as it's the mating season. Love them all.
DeleteHi Arlene, as you know the best laid plans and all that....!You did right to try and catch up with your sleep, the garden will still be there tomorrow! Hope you are having aq good dance evening, love to you all xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy, I hate sleeping during the day, it seems such a waste of daylight hours, but I know you're right, the garden will still be there tomorrow, though the lawn grass will be a bit longer and the weeds a bit more abundant. A couple of inches of much needed rain will soon see to that. love back to you too, I hope to visit later.
DeleteSo it gets put off a bit longer. At least you won;t have to worry about having nothing to do when the time does present itself. Today Frankie and I were taking measurements for new flooring in the bath and utility rooms. We didn't actually start installing it yet.....just started the process. Then she ran off to town with Laura and I went out and roamed around with the dogs and cameras.
ReplyDeleteToo true Chip, I seldom can complain about nothing to do, it's just getting the time and circumstances in place, plus a little bit of a push sometimes. I expect you'll get round to doing your new flooring when the time's right too. Frankie's got the right idea. So I expect we'll be seeing some wildlife shots from you too soon?
