Poor Tango

I've spent a stressful worrying day while Tango was at the vet having a large lump removed from his groin. It surfaced about three years ago, though the vet said it was just a fatty one.  However around a couple of months ago it got bigger till it filled the whole of my hand, I took him back and the vet said he could feel something solid in there, so he went for an op this morning. He's home and feeling very sorry for himself and in a bit of discomfort, I tried to get him up and going to spend a penny or two, but he just couldn't stand, and whimpered. He's eaten some fish and egg with a milky drink and I popped in a half painkiller, Here's hoping he goes through the night and feels better in the orning

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

  5. Hello all, thanks for your visits and comments. He's a good deal better to-day after a traumatic evening., He only had me up twice in the night, which was better than I expected It's hard getting him to eat and drink, but with some hand fed chicken and milky water, we'r getting there. He's a little bit steadier on his feet, which makes it easier to take him in the garden, Got the vet's to-morrow to have the drains removed. I'm sure that will make a difference.

Poor little Tango, he does look forlourn in those photos. Hope he feels much better soon. One of mine had a similar problem and had an op to remove it. He was a sorry little soul too for the first night but soon back to normal :) Hope it's the same for Tango :)

  8. Just a quickie folks, an update on tango, He is going to
the vet in about an hour to have the drains removed from his wound, He passed blood this morning, so I'm a bit concerned about that, I phoned the vet who said no food and monitor him till he comes in at 3 pm, if he gets worse, phone the emergency, fortunately it hasn't occurred again, but the poor little chap couldn't have any breakfast this morning, again. he is looking very sorry for himself, I'll be glad when this is all over, thanks for all your comments.

  9. aw poor tango! my cinnamon says to tell him he will get better. she went through a surgery to remove a smooth tissue tumor from her stomach that also took 25% of her stomach. she's two days older than dirt, so she knows how it feels! sending all our love!

    1. Tell Cinnamon that Tango is feeling a lot better, now that they've taken the drains out. He has eaten 3 meals to-day and is looking forward to another before bedtime, and he's drinking water so long as there's some honey in it, he is enjoying being spoilt. Love to all

  13. It's also very good for invalids Kirsten, ideally it should be Manuka honey but that's very expensive, I just use ordinary honey, a teaspoonful dissolved in some warm water topped up to a cupful, most dogs like it.
