My printer

I've got to buy a new printer as the printhead on my all in one Kodak has gone Kaput, I am so angry, it's only 18 months old, I contacted the help chat line and was on the computer for over two hours, but apart from constantly being asked for serial nos. and was I using genuine kodak stuff, blah, blah, at the end of it he offered me a new printhead and cartridges for £43 ! It cost £63 new, bl***y cheek, anybody want a broke printer?

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

  1. I purchased 3 new printers last year because I found them on sale, complete with new ink cartridges, for just a few pennies more than the price of replacement cartridges for the printer I already owned! So far my Canon all in one and dedicated Kodak photo printer have held up and ink is still inexpensive.....knock wood!

    1. Cripes Chip, how lucky is that ! I'm just glad I didn't get rid of my independent scanner, anyhow, I've ordered an Epson AIO, Sx425W, the reviews are good and the ink cartridges are apparently economical, fingers crossed.

  2. I will be heartbroken when mine gives out. Hope it won't happen forever. I love that scanning feature for negatives and slides which has help revivie prints that were lost when only the negatives were left. Hubby wants a wireless for his so we may end up with two.

    1. I do hope your printer DOES go on forever terry, I too get a lot of pleasure out of mine, I have a few photos to print out, I can't do without it either.
Get your hubby one, they aren't terribly expensive now, [unless you're replacing them too often ]:-)

  3. The scanner on my HP printer never worked properly from the beginning so I ended up buying a scanner to go with the printer. xx

  4. This definately hasn't been your week has it?! I've had my printer for several years though the expensive new cartridges seem to be suffering from the heat in the storage area and are rapidly drying up! Maybe I will need your broken printer after all ;) Hope you enjoyed your Bank Holiday...I spent the day at a Golden Retriever Show and got to hug a whole pack of loveable cuddly Retrievers all vying for my attention :) Lovely soft-hearted dogs they were :)

  5. Just what DO you do with a redundant printer?
Lucky you getting to cuddle a load of G. ret's nice dogs unless you get a rogue, then look out.
I should have been judging at a dog show in Basingstoke, but it was cancelled due to the ground being waterlogged, can't say I was sorry, as I just don't enjoy standing judging all day in the rain.

  6. If you take your printer to a Curry's store they will recycle it safely for you free of charge. You don't have to have purchased it from them :) I used to live near Basingstoke and went to Basingstoke Tech' studying ICT and Electronics! Don't blame you re weather, not nice day for anything, though by the time I got to the show it was bright sunshine...leading to lots of lazy cuddly Retrievers! Btw...do you think if I take my new, but drying out rapidly printer cartridges out and store them somewhere cooler till I need them again, they might UN-dry out? lol! :)

    1. I think you'll have to just buy some new cartridges Wolfie, I know it's not what you want to hear, but a damn sight cheaper than having to buy a new printer like I have, grrrr, I'll give Curry's a ring and see if they will do as you've suggested thanks, there's one about 4 miles dpwn the road, not far from the local waste recycling centre, or tip if you prefer LOL
The new one came to-day, yipppeee.
