New painting

Our Art club are holding their bi-monthly exhibition this week and as I missed ,last one and hadn't been for a few weeks I thought to dig out something to show, This is a picture of a place called Tadiford Gap, which is on Barton Cliffs, and is on a walk I used to go often with the dogs, though now Tango would find it too difficult to go down the cliff, whereas it doesn't seem so long ago he'd run down and be splashing in the sea before I could say NO WATER, There's a little part of me that doesn't want to sell it because of these memories, but I can't hang on to everything, now can I? :-(

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

  1. What a beautiful scene. You are a very talented lady. You are so right, no matter how much we would like to, we can't hold on to everything.

    1. Thank you Beth, and you know well that sometimes it's best to let some things go, but not all.

    1. Thank you Horst, some are easier than others, and I'll tell you a good way to start painting... get an picture with reasonably bold articles, people, objects, nothing too intricate, buy some cheap Acrylic paints and brushes
and paint over the picture subjects, easy peasy. Everyone can paint, not all can be great, but you do improve with practice, honestly

  5. Thank you Great Gran, it would be nice if I did get a lot for the painting, but I now understand when they talk about artists starving in garrets. LOL Thankfully I do it for pleasure not to live. Both dogs are well and sound asleep now after our long picnic day out.
