GrGran, I couldn't have got a knife through it to cut it properly I just hacked it in half when it was hot, but when it cooled it got harder, Jenny,they know what they can do with their strong flour.........., that's right, where the sun don't shine.! Thanks for the explanation Beth, but I still don't know what cornstarch is, but no matter, Now here is a proper loaf, success to-day.

Good for you Robyn, go for it, you'll save some money, but be sensible as it's easy to have 'just one more slice' I cut what I need and freeze the rest. It's lovely toasted, spongy inside with a crust. Kettle's on come on round everyone.
