Yes I did succumb and did another blog thansk for your comments, 'ciggies indeed' Sheila, I kicked that habit 30 years ago, and it wasn't as hard as this blogging lark.
I'm glad i made you all smile, and it was nice to think you want me to stay.
Also, thanks all for your comments on the dog walking blog, I was sent a load of cute pics in an email and thought these ones were just brilliant and had to share..
My kitchen is all but finished except for the curtains which are being made, but may be about 3-4 weeks yet, so I'll leave the final photos till then,
Ruby has got over her little op and has had no ill effects at all, and is now enjoying off lead running again.
Poor Tango has had to have the indignity of wearing a muzzle, He has been a dirty dog, eating all sorts of rubbish when we're out, I won't go into details, but it's that or on a lead and i think this is the lesser of two evils. Age is unfortunately catching up with him faster than any other dog I've ever had, It upsets me to witness a dog who was highly intelligent, who got to the highest class and standard in competition obedience, slide into old age, ravenous appetite is one of the symptoms with him ad he actually stole some food the other night the first time ever., I've noticed the change since Christmas, when he turned 13 yrs, His hearing is also fading.
One of my previous collies, Whisper, went through the same thing, though she was 15 before it was noticeable, she lived to 17.1/2 .
Well folks, that's about it for now, I can't think of anything else to say, I hope to come visiting to-morrow if not to-night, to see what you've all been up to.
Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby
If you come on here looking for some mind-blowing conversation or profound words of wisdom, well you've come to the wrong place and will be disappointed. I'm just an ordinary bod who likes to share my day with anyone who cares to listen. Tales of my dogs, my garden, my family and happenings in my life that I feel might just be amusing....If you're happy with that, draw up a chair, light up a ciggie if you wish or have a cup of tea and make yourself at home.
Maybe Tango has reached that ornery old geezer stage we males settle into during the golden years. I for one started looking forward to it when I hit my mid 40s and realized people stopped wasting my time when they were worried about getting bit......and I only had to do it 3 or 4 times before word got around.
ReplyDeleteNow you know where the wild stuff I come up with comes from. I have plenty of time to think it up now that I no longer have to deal with silly young whipper snappers!
Buddy has a ravenous appetite and selective hearing when it comes to anyone but me telling him what to do. Of course he's still a pup and people tell me he should top out between 110 and 120 lbs. The way he eats I figure he'll pass the latter sometime Saturday afternoon.
It is a sad thing about Tango. The fact is, we all grow old, humans too. Voice of experience speaking here. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you decided to keep blogging.
Oh Arlene that is sad about poor Tango , the dogs life is short to us and I hope to say that it isn't to them. If you know what I mean. Kitchen up and running wonderful look forward to the finale , have a lovely day and it's good to see you Hugs Sheila X:)
ReplyDeleteI hope Tango has a lot of years left.
