The rest of to-day

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

I finished off the washing I'd started this morning and which I forgot to mention, then  potted up the new plants I bought, I do hope they do well as all the wet weather has played havoc with the flowers so far, and rotted many of the blooms, My tomatoes haven't even started to show fruit, and the geraniums I planted way back on Mother's day have hardly grown, such a disappointing year.
I went into the garden with a view to doing some gentle pruning, huh ! no chance I decided the pruners weren't doing the job quick enough so I got out the electric hedge cutters and really went to town hacking down two rather overgrown Vibirnum, I have to leave them till now as the birds use them for nesting and shelter, but they'll grow back thick for next year, A spotted Laurel got a haircut as did some Choysia, as they were cutting out the light and sun from my few perennials that grow in the gap, a few branches off the Hibiscus and some overlong branches of a holly bush just about completed that burst of energy, The clearing up of all the branches and leaves took me till 7 pm. I couldn't leave them as tomorrow I have  friend coming for morning coffee, and dancing club in the evening, and it may well be raining by Tuesday, I didn't relish the mess the lawn would be by then, By the time I'd taken the dogs out, came home jumped in the bath, had some supper, I sat down around 9 pm, to a well deserved sit down and cyber browse, so folks that's another day almost gone, But just when am I going to get my curtains finished? not to mention the three full sacks of rubbish to take to the council waste disposal. A girls' work is never done.

  1. And that is the truth. A man works from sun to sun but a woman's work is never done. Have fun with your friend and enjoy the dance club.

    1. I know the feeling Sheila, and I'd bought quite a few new plants this year, to look forward to a nice display, duh! I've got to get some war paint on tidy up the hair , take the dogs out and have tea yet before I go off dancing. and know what? I don't really feel like it, a lazy day makes you very lethargic. {I had a little snooze after lunch] fatal.
      Hugs xx
