If you come on here looking for some mind-blowing conversation or profound words of wisdom, well you've come to the wrong place and will be disappointed. I'm just an ordinary bod who likes to share my day with anyone who cares to listen. Tales of my dogs, my garden, my family and happenings in my life that I feel might just be amusing....If you're happy with that, draw up a chair, light up a ciggie if you wish or have a cup of tea and make yourself at home.

My Saturday
I mentioned I sometimes meet people when i;m dog walking, but can't recall if I told you about meeting Margaret, she has a lovely Border collie called Sophie, for some strange reason whenever she [Sophie] spots us she scarpers off, anyhow it hadn't stopped Margaret and I from having a chat, we got talking before I went to the States and she was eager to know how the holiday went, so she invited me round for coffee.
We had a nice morning and she was interested in my holiday as she too had been to America.
After a few chatty conversations by email, she mentioned she went to a games evening in the local Methodist church held every other Saturday and invited me to come along.
Now here's a coincidence, I got chatting to another lady who has four Golden Retrievers and after about a half hours exchange of dog talk, she mentioned a games show on Saturday that she and another friend organise, Well how strange is that, I told her I was going.
When I arrived there were around eight ladies and two gentlemen and several different games on the tables. We opted for Cluedo, which I'd never played before, with the help of one of the ladies, we, Margaret, Audrey, Rosemary, myself and I think Dianne. managed to play a full game with Margaret, who also had never played before, guessing the culprit, weapon and locality, I must say I was as much in the dark when we finished, but I did enjoy it,
It was Rosemary's birthday and we were served up tea/coffe with birthday cake and biscuits!, not bad for £1 for an evening's entertainment. Margaret and I finished with a game og Hangman, nice and easy to end the evening.
I think I'll go to the next one as it was good fun.
Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

ReplyDeleteIt was a nice evening Beth, and as I said good value.
DeleteIsn't it amazing how animals can bring people together. Game nights can be a great way to get to know people slowly. I am not a very good game player, I tend to take it too seriously. Yes I can be a bad looser. LOL....
ReplyDeleteI think the majority of me friends were met through dogs Carrie, I don't know that I'd have any otherwise, LOL Glad you're not in our games tema then another LOL.
