Hi All, Just catching up with you to let you know I'm still in the land of the living. Yesterday I collected the little casket with Tango's ashes in it from the vet, more tears, but that's surely allowed. I put it carefully in the well of the car and went to the library, I planned it that way, to give me something to occupy my mind for a while till I got home, I chose some new books that look quite interesting, Biographies One of Hannah Hauxwell, A lady who dwelt alone in a farm on the Yorkshire moors till she was over 80, with only a dog for company , with a cow and I think a couple of sheep, She was discovered a few years back and eventually taken to a nursing home, I thought it would be good to read her own story. I also got Piers Morgan 'Do you know who I am' I've read a couple of his books and they are jolly interesting and page turners. Lastly a memoir of the East End of London, quite gritty stuff.
When I got home I placed Tango in the display cabinet with three other caskets Tarc, Whisper and Jet. I will file his cards away with the others, then it's a case of getting on with life. gone but certainly never, ever forgotten.
The clocks went back this morning and of course you waken at the same time, and IMO just makes a very long day. HOwever I changed my curtains to the winter weight as it's so much colder. I have finished my costume for tomorrow and baked a raisin loaf.

Close up Barton Beach, the dark mass in front is seaweed, washed up by the high tide

The sunset was a bit washed out, this was on the way back. |
Last evening I had a nice long walk along the beach and took some video on the camera, unfortunately I can't get them to play, they are way too big and keep timing out, but I took a couple of 'ordinary' photos and here they are, nothing special. The ones of Chewton Bunny I have taken and disputably previously, but it's a little corner I never tire of, it's just down the road and round the corner, then walk just under a mile and you're on the beach. I'm off out as soon as I finish this post, my hands are freezing. I hate and loathe winter.
Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby
Our time used to change around this date, but it hasn't yet. I love Winter, especially if we get a few flakes.
ReplyDeleteThe raisin loaf sure sounds good , never had one.
I always loved walking on the beach when in Florida. It's nice that you can anytime you want.
Our time next Sunday on November 4th. I hate the time changes and i hate winter too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hate the time changes Arlene messing you up , wish they would leave it as it is. A farmer refused to alter his clocks as he said "the cows don't know what the time is" and carried on as per usual.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a very nice beach and place to walk .
Enjoy your coming week.
Hugs Sheila xx
Love the pictures. Any chance of a picture of "Red Riding Hood"? I suppose the time change made sense to years and years ago. Today it's just a nuisance and don't get me started on how I feel about winter,:(.
ReplyDeleteKeeping busy I see :) Good for you! Biggest prob with clocks going back besides that wintry feeling that it brings with it is them not changing the clocks at work for weeks. Hopelessly confusing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to keep busy afterwards. I wish I could have done that with Wildflower. Unfortunately had an hour drive home from the vet on a country road alone. Needless to say I cried my eyes out the whole way. What a beautiful even walk you had. Oh what piece that must bring to your mind and soul. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI didn't reply to you all on this blog, sorry, some days just fly by. Well I DID put up a pic of Red Riding Hood, [job done] The farmer is quite right about his cows, and it takes the dogs a while to get used to their walks.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about your drive back from the vet Carrie, that must have been stressful, I am so glad I had Tango put to sleep at home. Thanks all for reply
