I'm just an ordinary bod who likes to share my day with anyone who cares to listen. Tales of my dogs, my garden, my family and happenings in my life that I feel might just be amusing....If you're happy with that, draw up a chair, light up a ciggie if you wish or have a cup of tea and make yourself at home.

My first Blog on Blogger
Hi and welcome to my blog post, Having been evacuated from Live spaces we all have to find new homes for our natterings, musings, blethers or whatever you wish to call them, well it's going to take a little time to become acquainted with this new home, though to tell the truth I realize I've been here before and started a blog, but that was some time ago and now it's not just for fun it's got to be serious if I want to stay in the social world of cyber-friends. I have also re-opened a blog space in Word Press, where Spaces recommended we take our spiel, so I'm trying the best of both worlds, I will miss Spaces I was comfortable there, or at least till they started on the slippery slope of evicting us, such a waste, so many lovely spaces and so many lovely friends there, nothing else comes close. But, we, and I will have to make the best of what we have and be grateful that at least we have somewhere else to upload our tales. catch you all later I sincerely hope that some of my space friends will follow me to at least one of the new posts. my word press one is http://dogwalker.wordpress.com Bye,

It was a slow go but I finally got some friends back. I think a lot of us had a time re-connecting. I still miss a lot of folks from back then. And I still miss WL as it was so much easier. I'm so glad we re-connected.
ReplyDeleteI still have about a dozen of my old space friends, either on blogger or wordpress. On the plus side I have made a lot of new friends.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased for you Beth and Gr Gran, I didn't have the chance to accumulated many being a late starter on WLS, and have lost most of what I had, a few of them are now on FB having given up on Blogging, I'm just hanging on by the skin of my teeth. Thanks for response. Just HOW do you get 'followers' to take an interest in your blog, I wish I knew. I do appreciate the few I still have.
ReplyDeleteI loved WLS too Arlene, and it took me quite a while to settle in here. I really didn't like the look of Wordpress, so never even tried on there. I found some of my old friends and made some new ones too, but you surprised me when you said it was only 2 years!! It seems a lot longer ago than that! My first blog on here was 2nd October 2010, a lot has changed for me since then. Like you I very much appreciate visits and posts from my visitors, I just wish Blogger would make it easier for everyone to comment, I have visits from all over the world, and I would like to know what people really think of my blogs! Have a good weekend :) xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's my beef too Val, that it's not always easy to comment, and I miss posts as, though I 'subscribe by email'i don't get emailed. I found WP a bit too technical, so dropped my blog on there. [it was the same as on here anyhow.] Off to bed now g'night and thanks for response.
ReplyDeleteYes we had quiet a community of people over a WLS however I didn't meet you till coming here even though we shared a great deal of friends. Funny how that was. So often when commenting you would see the same persons name over and over again visiting different people, but never finding the time to go and check them out or them check you out. Then one day someone takes that step and the circle is broaden and now you feel more at home when visiting as you also know everyone there. But just the other day had a visitor comment that I haven't heard from for over 2 years since moving to blogspot and they had gone to wordpress. She found me I don't know how, but I did notice she has also now reconnected with many more her at blogspot as well that use to be friends. She is into poetry and writing something that I struggle with so it was a God send that she should reappear in my life again. ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more Carrie, it is nice to have these friends, I sometimes think I should maybe contact other bloggers who comment on my friends posts and see if I can broaden my circle a bit, not too much as I wouldn't have time.
DeleteHow lovely to re-connect with an old blogger friend, as I did say, that quite a few have gone to FB. I go on there but don't like it as much, as unless you're logging on and staying on about 24/7, you miss the thread of conversations. A bit too busy for me I'm afraid. Lovely to hear from you. X

DeleteWell I'm a hopeless w/p addict lol but I do try to get over here and get involved in my blog over here too :) As you know it's relatively infrequent but the last few days have been plagued with connection problems and when I got online last night we had a power cut! But I'm still around and I do enjoy your blog :)
