Yesterday

Hi all, yes I did have a not very nice attack of Vertigo yesterday and it left me feeling quite delicate for the rest of the day., It's a b*** of an affliction, [if that's the right description] I had my first one about 3 years ago, and didn't know what the H*** hit me, I was trying to focus on the flowers on the duvet, but they were leaping all over the place, I also felt so sick, I remember I crawled out of bed holding on to the door frames, and managed finally to phone the doc, I seriously thought I'd had a stroke or something, However the doc came out and told me what it was and explained what it was, I was thankful for that as now when I get one I know it's not life threatening, unless.... I fall over and smack my head or something, I keep some travel sickness pills by the bed and if I have a spell I take one immediately and just take it steady, it's the sicky feeling that I hate most., plus the tiredness that washes over you.
Sorry folks it's not a chirpy upbeat blog, but a gal's got to have a little deviation from the norm occasionally, if being a ditz is normal.

  1. I intend being a lazy lump myself this weekend Arlene! It might snow, if it does I will take the camera out, but apart from that its cold out there!!

  2. Arlene, I know exactly what you mean. It's actually called Meniere's Disease, same thing. I have it and just like you, it came on with no warning whatsoever; and just like you, I take those little seasickness pills. But wow, when it first hits, it's CRAZY! I walked right into the door and I was even holding on to the walls. Now it comes on about once a month or so and if I can get to the pills without breaking my neck, then I'm good to go for the rest of the day.
Hey, you and I should walk down the street together BEFORE we take those pills, lol. Wonder how many pubs would let us in, hahahaha.

  3. It's just come on the weather forecast for the South, 'snow is on the way' but believe it or not, when I went out with Barney and Tango to-day I was wrapped up like an Eskimo, by the time I was on the way home the sun came out and I was too hot!, crazy weather.
Thankfully I don't get attacks that often Jenny, and I hope I don't start to., they can be quite frightening. If we walked down the street like that, they'd think we'd been in one pub too many. LOL

  5. My vertigo is a side effect of some of the meds I'm on. This is what I mean when I say I've had a bout of the WOO-WOOs. The first time it hit me we were on our way out to eat. Suddenly my vision started to pulse!!! It was in February and when I tried to brace myself I apparently stepped on the only patch of ice on the whole street. The next thing I knew I was UNDER Frankie's Jeep and the girls were trying to be careful about dragging me out because my head made a loud whacking sound wen it hit the pavement on the way down. I got a trip to the ER and a big dose of pain killer injected into my butt with a large, very dull and most likely bent hypo. The ER doc said he didn't know what was wrong with me but if I was still having problems the next day to call my doctor. She called ME and told me what it was and to get used to it because it would happen again!

  6. Awww Arlene
I know what that feels like asnd it is really horrible,
When i had it the Dr gave me STEMETIL which i found very good not only did it take the giddiness away but it also helped to calm the stomach down which as you know is one of the unpleasant symptoms of it
Hope you feel better soon, just don't turn you head quickly. and if you have a back garden just let Tango go out there till you feel better
    Thinking of you xxxx

  8. I'm sorry to hear about your vertigo, it's a horrible feeling and can be so frightening too. I hope this doesn't become a regular occurence for you and hope you feel better soon.

The graphics you posted are cute. The little cat looks a bit like my Mini.

  9. Hi all, thanks for your good wishes and concern, I felt much better the next day, it's just such a pain in the derrière knowing that you've got this sitting behind your skull and wondering when it's going to pounce. That was a real scary attack you had Chip. I've never had anything drastic happen, but I just hate that 'out of control' feeling.
If I remember rightly it was Stemetil the doc gave me the first time, I think I'll get some more for standby.
But it 's gone for now so I'll forget it.
