Boo Hoo

Well folks, I shoulda worn that hat, and made a wish, because it snowed, and had a last minute cancellation.
Woke up at 7 am and saw the white stuff, my spirits fell, uh oh, I thought doesn't look too good, went back to bed till 8 am as I had a plumber coming up to disconnect the cooker at 10 [I'm having a new one]  so couldn't see the sense getting up too early as I couldn't take the dogs out.
The snow started to melt and I hoped it would disappear. but when I took the dogs out at 4 pm it was starting to freeze up and the roads were getting icy, When I got home there was a phone call to say the roads round that area were becoming quite nasty and it would be foolish to attempt to drive. *%$?)*~ I thought, I haven't got a meal for tonight, no cooker and only one slice of bread that was for my breakfast toast, I was going to make a fresh loaf tomorrow. Lucky I've got a combi microwave so instead of a nice three course meal I had beans on toast, hence the Boo Hoo.
I must admit though disappointed, I was very dubious about going out, as when I walked the dogs I slipped a couple of times. Oh well we'll just have to re schedule for next year, not the same though is it.
Thanks all for your earlier comments I'll go back to them in a mo.

  1. Be glad it was all cancelled, Arlene. It was an accident just waiting to happen. If you slipped a couple of times only taking the dogs out, you can imagine what a car would do. I'm glad you're at home. Beans on toast? And I thought that was only a small gun shot I heard! HA, just kiddin' you ;)
Stay warm and safe, turn on the tv or pop in a movie and tomorrow (or next week at this rate) will be better. XOXOXO

  2. Thanks Jenny, and I must admit, if I hadn't said so, I was a little bit relieved. You thought you heard a small gunshot, just wait till I give the dogs the leftovers, you'd better take cover.
Don't know if you've read my last comment, but Ruby jumped up on the laptop and broke two keys.

  3. I have often wondered exactly what beans on toast is. Is it baked beans like we get out of a can that is served on a piece of toast? Whatever, it doesn't sound very appetizing, not nearly as good as a 3 course meal. The weather here is not good either.

  4. Hahaha, just came back and I see your reply. Give little Ruby a snuggle for me, that was too funny. Now as for beans for the leftovers for Ruby and Tango -- I am headin' for the hills! P-ewwwwww! Dogs and their "sbd"'s are really too much (you know: silent but deadly) Lucy left off with one while she was under the covers with me last night and I jumped up like a banshee and yelled, "holy crap, Lucy, what was THAT?" Darn thing hung in the air for an eternity ;)

  5. Yes Beth that's precisely what it is, baked beans on a slice of toast, real windbreakers But you can always blame it on the dog and not really so appetizing, though I did have an egg with it

  6. Glad I made you smile Jenny, I think I'll join you, trouble is there's just no place to hide, can't even put them outside in this weather, as for under the covers, that's real punishment, what did you do in a past life to deserve that phew! Cat sh*t is bad enough, so when it's been 'cooked' yeeeuk a real nose wrinkler

  7. I'm sorry your plans got put on hold.
The Fushigi Ball is a gravity defying ball. On the box it says it's addictive and mind-blowing. Maybe I should get me one, sounds fun.

  8. Beans on toast just add a1/2 tsp of curry powder lovely my fav snack Arlene. Sorry it was cancelled but just as well , must admit a wholesome meal would have been much better. Wish the snow would go away for everyone's sake. Hugs Arlene hope you get sorted out very soon. xSheilax

  9. Thanks again all, and for the reply on the Fushigi Balls, I was thinking maybe they were something for eating, I think I've go food on the brain right now, I had to do with a sausage sandwich for lunch to-day, thank heaven my cooker comes to-morrow, lease don't let the snow hold it back
Curried beans, now that sounds a bit tastier Sheila, though I wouldn't be able to give the left overs to the dogs now, would I, that would really clear the house LOL

  10. I'm sorry your plans were cancelled. As for the beans on toast. LOVE THEM! (chuckling about the 'small gunshot' comments.) lol
We're having beans on toast tonight with a side salad. I'm not into cooking big meals for two anymore. The kids are gone so small simple meals are just fine by me. Beans are actually quite nutritious, full of protein, a very good and healthy substitute for meat, only problem with that is my Doc said one has to eat a lot of beans to make up for the protein in meat, could sound a whole lot louder than a small gun shot from this side of the pond! LOL
Just noticed the comment by Catches the Eye about adding a 1/2 tsp of curry powder...mmm, that does sound tasty and I'm going to have to try that. :)
Hope your roads clear soon so you can get out and about safely again.
