Rude young men and other things.

I haven't posted for a short while, nothing much has happened, till to-day, and I had not one, but two encounters with rude and arrogant young men when I was out walking the dogs this morning.
On the way down Chewton Bunny, which is a Nature reserve, a young man about mid twenties came cycling up behind me on his bike, the path isn't wide and has shrubs either side with one side a drop to the stream. As Tango is deaf I had him on an extending lead, and had to pull him out of the way, I mentioned to the AYM [arrognat young man] that this was a no cycling path, i don't see any sign he rapped out, well if you look on the sign posts you will see one below the directions I replied, anyhow he obviously didn't like this LOL [little old lady] telling him that he was wrong, he got abusive, and started shouting, I ended up telling him that empty vessels make most noise and hoped he had a puncture before he got home.
A bit further down the path Another AYM on hismobile, he had two collie dogs, and one was crouching down in stalking stance, I didn't think anything of it till it jumped on ruby and knocked her over ! I shouted a the dog and told the AYM to get his dog under control, he carried on talking on his phone, No harm done, he said, If my dogs had done that i'd whop them, I replied, he said he didn't hit his dogs, so i told him perhaps he should. What is it with these guys, ? they just don't llike LOL's telling them they're wrong, huh.  it's the sort of behaviour that I'd expect from a run down estate in B'ham or London not the genteel suburbs of New Milton :-)

After the dog walk I went to Sainsbury's for some cocoanut and ground almonds  as I want to bake to-morrow, and  I realized I'd forgot my Nectar card, grrrrrrr,  it's double points to-day, and as I'd spent almost £15, I'll keep the receipt and collect them asap.

 I was glad I did the washing yesterday so i got it out nice and early to-day and it dried beautifully.

When I got home and as it was a lovely day decided to tidy up in the garden, also plant my bulbs. I would have liked to cut the grass but ran out of time, I haven't even opened the box on my new lawn mower yet. Oh well tomorrow is another day, IF I get the baking done early.
That's about it for now folks.

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

  1. Sadly Arlene there AYM all over the place, but there are also some very nice, polite ones too. They don't have to be young or men these days, we nearly got run over by some bikes on the promenade a couple of weeks back, a man and woman weaving through the walkers on their bikes, I said 'this is a promenade' the woman replied 'no it isn't, read the signs', then swore at me, sadly she was right, the walkers and cyclists have to fight for the space!There will be an accident along there one day when someone gets hit with by a cyclist. I can't think what the District Council were on when they made this particular rule!! Have fun baking tomorrow, I am trying to tidy my garden for the winter...love to you all x

    1. Hi Val, Since the olympics we're over run, literally by bikers, when you see a line of cars, you can bet there's a cyclist at the head and can't be passed, Anyhow the work 'Promenade' means walk. Hope the weather keeps fine for your gardening. X

  2. It seems that old folks are nothing in the eyes of some of the young people. Thankfully they are in the minority.
    You are such a busy lady. I wish I had half your energy. xx

  3. Ditto what Beth said. And these idiots may get it done to them, maybe remembering how disrespecting they were of the older folks.
    So glad you, Tango and Ruby made it home safely.

    1. Thanks Gr Gran, I sometimes just think, I know what it is to be young, they don't know what it is to be old, It'll catch up on them, quicker than they think. Hugs {{0}}

    1. Hi Sheila, yes it's the Chewton Bunny walk. It's a really lovely stroll about a mile from the bridge on the A337 to the sea, passing by an old Mill House. I've blogged about it and taken several pics, maybe I'll do a walk this way post, how about that then? My daffs are varied, , Hugs to you {{0}}

  5. It is sad how some people just don't think how their actions reflect upon them.

  6. Wow Wow your background here is sooo ready for fall colors. I so had to laugh at parts of this story you LOL. However no one should ever let their dog even touch yours without your permission.
