Mellow September

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby
I just had to make a comment on the beautiful weather we've been having lately,  Warm golden sunshine with the gentlest of breezes, a truly Golden September, it almost, but not quite, makes up for the bleak and mostly miserable summer.
My walk this morning was up by the Burial ground , [ I've blogged about that place previously] It was so quiet and calm, there are three large fields of Sweet corn, and you can walk right round them , I think it's used for cattle fodder, The swallows were swooping and diving catching flies to fatten up for their long journey south, and there must have been a good wheen of them by the way they were jinking around. god speed to them when they make their journey. When they go, you really feel that summer is over and winter is just round the corner.
I've got Barney staying with me for a week, and he enjoys the burial walk as there are lots of little creature smells.
In one corner of the corn field a lot of it has been trashed, I thought it was youngsters and couldn't believe they'd come all that way just to destroy a few ears of corn, but I was told by another dog walker it was the family of badgers living not far, who come out and have a good frolic, plus helping themselves to a few good ears of corn.
Have a lovely week-end
