I'm off to bed in a mo, but thought |I'd share my day with you, nothing earth shattering, just another dog walk.
My good friend Nicky, who used to have Tango's sister Indie, rang and suggested we meet up and have a walk in the New Forest, I had nothing in particular to do, actually I had absolutely nothing to do, so said Yes good idea, we hadn't been out for a few months owing to Tango's gradual slowing down. We live 30+ miles apart so meeting halfway at Lyndhurst is fair. We had a walk at Bolton's Bench where we've been a few times and I took photos of the horse almost coming into the car.
On the drive through the Forest from my home is beginning to look rather beautiful with the leaves turning colour and putting on their Autumn tresses. If the weather is fair in a week or two I may well go out and take some photos, as the Forest starts about 5 miles from me it's no big deal.
The road into Lyndhurst was as busy as a summer's day, with a long line of cars entering the village. Likewise Bolton's Bench car parks were pretty full, and we had to travel a bit further into the Forest proper to find parking. The day was overcast, though mild, we had a good hour and a half walk, some parts were a tad muddy, but that's fairly normal, as the ponies tend to churn up any patches of ground that are a bit soggy.
It did me good to get out with Nicky, my friends have been very kind and helpful at this time, but then we do find that dog folk in Competition Obedience look after each other and give 100% support when it's needed.
Ruby was worn out as we'd had a good walk in the morning, she's slept all evening, just beginning to stir now for bedtime comfort stop a biscuit then back to bed. what a life.
Take care all and have a good week.Good night.
Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby
If you come on here looking for some mind-blowing conversation or profound words of wisdom, well you've come to the wrong place and will be disappointed. I'm just an ordinary bod who likes to share my day with anyone who cares to listen. Tales of my dogs, my garden, my family and happenings in my life that I feel might just be amusing....If you're happy with that, draw up a chair, light up a ciggie if you wish or have a cup of tea and make yourself at home.
It sounds like a lovely day Arlene :) Unlike here where it has done nothing but rain and be dark and depressing all day! I went into town for some cheery retail therapy! I'm glad you have supportive friends in the dog world...times like this when you need them the most and their understanding of what it means to lose your spesh' is 2nd to none I would say. Ruby must be one of the fittest dogs around with all that lovely exercise! Autumn is a great time for dog walks, and I love all the golds and reds as the leaves fall all around :) Big hug for you x
ReplyDeleteThank you Wolfie, the weather here to-day is very different to yesterday, like yours, dull and dank. Ruby is basically lazy, but is always up for a walk when I am. I think we both might get a bit fitter.
DeleteI am you had a lovely day to fill your mind with other things. I will be looking forward to those promised pictures. xx
ReplyDeleteThat should read I am glad. sorry!
ReplyDeleteLOL we all make these mistakes Beth, I must remember to take my camera all the time as I don't always know where I'll end up.
DeleteSO Glad you met up with friends Arlene , it sounds as though it did you all good. It's good to catch up and chat and support each other at times like these. It was a lovely day here yesterday very pleasant indeed. I am looking forward to those pictures , lovely time of year.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing is the clocks go back this Saturday :( with nights drawing in.
Enjoy your Week catch you later.
Sheila Hugs to you and dear Ruby. xx
Hi Sheila, I don't know where I'd be without them, especially at times like this. Awful thought, losing an hours daylight in the evening. It makes the winter so long. We need a bit of frost to make the leaves turn, which is supposed to be the forecast from Friday. BRRRRRRRRRRRR. X
DeleteGlad you had such a good day Arlene, its times like these that you realize what good friends you have. Love to you and Ruby xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Poppy, couldn't agree more, thanks for dropping by and kind thoughts. X
DeleteHow nice to walk with such a good friend. It always makes it a bit easier with someone who shares you interests and feelings about these special friends we all love. Our new puppy is sitting right here next to me as a read this. Glad you had such nice day.
ReplyDeleteHow right you are Terry, Nicky and I go back quite a way.
DeleteDo put up a photo of your new pip, with some background, I'm popping over now. Thanks for dropping by and giving your support, so much appreciated to you all.
It's so good that you have friends that share your same interests. And getting out walking sweet Ruby must help as well. Maybe you'll have photos next time as God knows I'll never see your country.
ReplyDeleteStill thinking of you and hoping your days will get brighter.
Hello Gr Gran, as I said below, yes I am lucky, Ruby is a lifeline, bless her. I hope to get out and about a bit later in the month, we are expecting frost soon and that usually helps colour up the trees, but they can't match your fall in New England, but pretty in their own way. Thank you for your kind thoughts.
DeleteVery nice that you got to go on an enjoyable walk with a friend. I am happy for you that you have lots of good friends. You and Ruby will stay in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThank you once again Maggie, I'm hoping to start getting back on track and visiting again. And yes I am blessed with friends, It's times like these you realize how precious they are.
