Catch up

My mind is buzzing with blogstuff, but I'm just going to put up some photos from the garden, though they were taken a couple of weeks ago. I came across them when i was deleting from my camera, and remember I took them to put on here but lost interest, however here they are.  Though this first one was a bunch of flowers my daughter gave me for Easter

These evil maggots below ate the roots of one of my fuschias, so I left them on the bird table I bet the blackie loved them.

Here is the poor fuschia which got chewed up.

For Christmas last year, or was it my birthday, Karen gave me this lovely old fashioned perambulator planter, and for Mother's day this year, she gave me geranium plants, so I've planted them in here with some Bellis daisies

Here is new life starting in one of the fuschias who made it through the winter

This nest was lying in the flower bed, it had obviously fallen out of the Vibirnum bush, which is a bit near a fence, I hope there wasn't any eggs in but I think it may have been a bit too early.
Well that's it for now folks I'll post up some more stuff maybe tomorrow, till then keep well

Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

  1. Love your Pram planter, what a great thing to have in the garden. Don't you just love it when the perennials start to peek out of the ground and start to green up the garden.

    1. Yes Horst I think it is very pretty too, the only problem is that it is a bit shallow, so i'm limited to what I can plant, but I won't be stumped for ideas. I've got several Fuschias and it looks like they are starting to show green, Thanks for calling

  3. The planter is gorgeous and shame on those maggots. I didn't realize they ate plants. I think I watch too many of the crime scene investigation shows. lOl

    1. Oh yes Beth, they are from the Weevil beetles, and are lethal to fuschias, trouble is you can't see them as they lay their eggs in the soil and the maggots hatch and just munch away, and you know nothing till you realize the plant isn't shooting and it just lifts out with no roots.

  4. Those birds should have a nice little feast, serves the maggots right to eat your plants. :)

  6. Thanks for calling Sheila, Yes I am a bit limited to plants in the pram, but primroses sound ideal. I've had to fleece my geraniums as we've been having some overnight frosts ! it's April on the south coast !! what is going on for heaven's sake.
