What a dreadful day it was on Sunday, wet, wet, wet, and cold with it. no worries it was not a bad day in the end, as I said on Saturday I was going visiting my Grand’daughter and BF to day,
I did my usual chores in the morning, walking the dog, tidying up and getting things in order. I was due at 2 pm first to my daughter and then to my middle gr daughter’s new flat to drop off some stuff. that is Nicola who has Tommy. Then on to Sarah’s, her bungalow is lovely, it was an old place that hadn’t been in a bit of a time warp since the fifties, , but Ross has worked very hard and completely renovated it and brought it up to a lovely modern day home, They had been buying and saving [can you do both?] to furnish it.
She was cooking roast chicken and the trimmings, obviously a bit nervy as it was a first for her, everything went beautifully, We all thoroughly enjoyed it, for afters we had a choice of trifle or / and bread and butter pud, as hse knows I love both, so I had a taster of each with custard on one and cream on the other. yummy. With tea we had a my offering and it went down well with the family,
Ten out of ten for a young girl to give Sunday dinner to her Nan, Mum, Dad and Ross.
Here is the recipe for Bakewell tart as promised to Sheila
I'd recommend baking the pastry case blind.

If you come on here looking for some mind-blowing conversation or profound words of wisdom, well you've come to the wrong place and will be disappointed. I'm just an ordinary bod who likes to share my day with anyone who cares to listen. Tales of my dogs, my garden, my family and happenings in my life that I feel might just be amusing....If you're happy with that, draw up a chair, light up a ciggie if you wish or have a cup of tea and make yourself at home.
It sounds like a wonderful day and the food sounds delicious!

ReplyDeleteYou go ahead and make it Carrie, you don't HAVE to eat it you know, you could always use it for a photographic study. LOL
