A fair exchange

When out walking with the dogs  this morning I met a lady with her dog , as one does, I noticed she had a plastic bag full of blackberries, and I made a comment that they're just ripe for picking and I'd best get cracking before they all go. As she had them in a plastic bag and some of the juice had stained her trousers, I told her I use a plastic milk bottle to collect them as it holds a lot and if you should drop it they won't spill, Anyhow we got chatting about what she was going to do with the blackberries and she said that she would normally make blackberry and apple goodies but her apple tree hadn't borne any fruit this year. Apparently it's a nationwide problem this year due to the cold spring that nipped the blossom. I said that my apple tree was laden with apples, I asked her if she was local, and it turned out she lived just round the corner from me.,so said  she was welcome to come round and pick all she wanted.
She came round in the afternoon and brought a bag of freshly picked Runner beans, , after picking her apples  we chatted for a while and got on well,  she said when she made her Apple and Blackberry jam she would drop me round a jar, Now then was that not a good exchange, One good turn and I got two back, that can't be bad now can it.  Life can be so rewarding.
Thank you for visiting and please come back, Arlene, Tango and Ruby

    1. Thank you Beth, I also made a new friend about three weeks ago, dog walking, and we have shared a couple of coffee mornings.
